Engaging Parents in Education

Welcome to our new website – Engaging Parents – a website produced by jointly OCASC (the Ottawa Carleton Assembly of School Councils) and OCISO (the Ottawa Community Immigrant Services Organization).

Here, we hope as parents, school councils, teachers, principals, school administrators you will find ideas and suggestions to help you build parent engagement in your school.

We have stories of successful activities, projects and events about:

• communications between parents and schools;
• parents helping their children at home;
• building parenting skills;
• school community events and activities.

We hope that you will be able to use some of these stories at your school, and that you will be inspired to share your story with us so that we can share it with others on this website!
